Sticking out his tongue, a little boy giggles with glee. While waiting for a ritual procession, the child plays hide and seek with his friends. THE STORY BEHIND THE PRODUCT

Artisan Organization: Andika Pratama

Country: Indonesia

"I was raised by my father, who is a painter, and my grandfather was a painter too. So I grew up in an environment filled with works of art. Since I was three years old, I've been accustomed to canvases and colors. What fun those days were!

"Now I'm painting in the digital age through the art of photography. My hobby was inspired by some pictures in National Geographic magazine. From that time on, I began taking pictures with my cousin's old cameras that I borrowed for learning.

"I felt like the world fell down upon me when my parents got divorced. I was depressed for a little while, but then I realized that I still have two siblings who need love and affection. I tried to pull myself out of my depression, and I found a job as a graphic designer. I worked there for two years. My parents' divorce has really been the hardest thing ever in my life.

"While working as a graphic designer, I discovered some interesting things about photography. Then I continued to learn and practice almost all the time. My work in graphic design has drawn me close to the world of photography. Slowly but surely, I started getting used to digital cameras and images. Ever since, I've loved photography and digital arts.

"I know how to appreciate and respect nature as well as the people who have made me what I am now – a professional photographer.""
