"My name is Pande Kadek Krismantara, but my closest friends call me Kadek Casa. I was born in 1988 in Mas Village, Ubud, Gianyar. Mas Village is famous for its wooden sculptures and other wood crafts. I feel lucky to be born in this village. My father was a sculptor, but now he works as a gardener in a villa, and my mother continues my father's work as a sculptor.
"I started working after I graduated from college. I was interested in pursuing a craft business because my brother was the first to enter this field. I became very interested in this field because I worked with my sister to sell handicrafts in Ubud. Honestly, working is my passion, because I feel happy when I can make money from my own work.
"When COVID-19 hit the whole world, I felt it was the hardest time I have ever faced. I feel that the difficulty is still continuing even now, because I am still struggling. But I believe God's plan is definitely the best, especially for Bali, which is still dependent on tourism. I always try to get closer to God to find peace.
"My beaded decorative box is, in my opinion, a work that requires patience and perseverance in its creation, because every bead that is installed requires accuracy. The box is also inspired by the place to bring offerings to the temple. I modified it so that it looks more attractive, and can also be used as home décor. What is interesting for me is the color combinations that I use, and the shapes and motifs are very interesting.
"I hope that by working with Novica we can establish a mutually beneficial relationship so that I can help myself financially and of course my workers who are affected by the pandemic." "
