"I am Manush Nersisyan, born in the city of Hadrut, a place that holds a deep-rooted cultural significance for me. Growing up in Hadrut, I was surrounded by the vibrant landscapes of Nagorno-Karabakh and the stories of my ancestors, which instilled in me a love for art and tradition from an early age.

"In 2006, I began working in Hadrut's children's and youth creative group, taking on the dual roles of group leader and accountant. In this position, I was fortunate enough to work closely with children and young people, encouraging their creativity and guiding them in discovering their talents. This role allowed me to share my passion for art with the younger generation, and it became a significant part of my life. I watched with pride as children blossomed into confident, creative individuals, each discovering their unique artistic voice. My work wasn’t just a job; it was a calling to cultivate the next generation of artists in my community.

"However, everything changed in 2020, with the outbreak of the 44-day war. Our beloved city of Hadrut fell, and my family and I were forced to flee, leaving behind the home we had known all our lives. This sudden and heartbreaking displacement to Yerevan was a challenging experience. In the face of this adversity, I found myself at a crossroads, searching for a way to rebuild my life and cope with the pain of displacement.

"It was in Yerevan, amidst the uncertainty of our new beginning, that I returned to my roots in handicrafts. I began creating art to generate income, but it quickly became so much more—a way to heal, to express, and to stay connected to the heritage I had left behind. With each piece I created, I found solace and strength. The act of crafting, of working with my hands, allowed me to channel my emotions and transform them into something beautiful and tangible. I discovered that even in the midst of loss, art had the power to restore and rebuild.

"Since moving to Yerevan, I have actively participated in all the exhibitions organized by the Republic of Armenia, where I have had the honor of showcasing my work. These exhibitions have given me a platform to share my story, my culture, and my journey of resilience through art. Every piece I present carries with it a part of my heritage, my memories of Hadrut, and my hopes for the future. Through my art, I strive to convey the strength and beauty of my people, our history, and our ability to overcome adversity.

"Art, for me, is not just about creating objects; it is about telling stories and building connections. It is a way to remember where I came from, to honor my past, and to look forward to the future. Each piece I craft is a testament to my journey—a journey that started in a small town in Nagorno-Karabakh and continues today in Yerevan.
