"My name is Naira Mkhitaryan, and I’m an artist and designer by profession. From a young age, I was drawn to creating things with my hands, enjoying the way materials could be transformed into something meaningful. Initially, my craft was purely a hobby—a way to unwind and make something beautiful that people could use daily or display in their homes. But over time, my connection to decorative applied art deepened, and in the last few years, it has grown into a serious passion and, eventually, a source of income.

"This transition wasn’t easy, and there were moments when I doubted if I could turn my love for handmade crafts into a viable career. Financial limitations and the pressure to meet expectations made it hard to stay confident in this journey. However, in my heart, I always knew I didn’t want to do anything else. Creating isn’t just a skill for me; it’s a form of expression, a way of connecting with others, and an opportunity to bring a fresh, personal touch into people’s lives.

"Fortunately, I had the support of the Vinnet Vanadzor non-governmental organization, which believed in my vision and gave me a chance to grow. Through them, I became a beneficiary of Care Caucasus's "Woman’s Power, Her Future" grant program. This assistance was invaluable, helping me gain both the resources and the confidence to take my work to a professional level. The program not only helped with financial resources but also introduced me to a network of other women artisans who have faced similar challenges and share my passion for crafting. Being part of such a supportive community was a turning point, reminding me that each obstacle can be overcome with persistence and a bit of creativity.

Each piece is crafted with purpose and attention to detail, whether it’s a decorative item for the home or something that can be used daily.
