This exquisite Sheesham wood box transforms into two games: mancala and cribbage. The game is a beautiful home decor accent piece that is also functional to create fun game memories for the family. The game box is hand-carved, featuring peg holes on the exterior for cribbage. The box is accented with brass hinges and a brass closure. When opened, the wooden board reveals the twelve carved cups for Mancala. Included in the set are playing cards, bag of marbles and four wooden pegs. Instructions included.
Story behind the Art:
The hand-carved games are crafted in Saharanpur in the region of Uttar Pradesh, India that is well-known for the ancient woodcarving techniques. Temples in this region bear witness to the early talent of artisans in that region. Today, the craft is still practiced using hand tools that are much the same.
Due to the handmade nature, slight variations in size, color, shape, pattern, or other characteristics may be evident. Each piece is truly a unique work of art, lovingly crafted by hand.
