"My name is Mariam Hakobyan, and I was born in the vibrant city of Yerevan in 1998. From a young age, I was captivated by the beauty of silver and the art of jewelry-making. Growing up in a family where both my parents were dedicated silversmiths, I was fortunate to witness their artistry and the skillful craftsmanship that went into every piece they created. Watching them bring raw silver to life, transforming it into intricate, meaningful jewelry, sparked a deep appreciation for this art form in me. While I eventually pursued a career in accounting, my love for silversmithing was something that remained constant.
"In 2019, my journey took an exciting turn when I met my husband, who shared my passion for jewelry-making. Like me, he had an artistic spirit and a love for working with metals and gemstones. Discovering this common interest brought us closer together and laid the foundation for what would soon become our shared creative venture. We often spent time exchanging ideas, discussing our designs, and learning from each other's unique techniques and perspectives. It was thrilling to envision how we could combine our skills to create pieces that not only looked beautiful but also held sentimental value and meaning.
"Then, in 2020, as the world faced the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, my husband and I decided to take a leap and bring our dream to life. With more time to focus on creative pursuits during the lockdowns, we launched our own jewelry brand. This step allowed us to showcase our work and share our love for Armenian-inspired designs with a broader audience. Building our online presence was challenging at first, but it was immensely rewarding to see people from different places appreciate and connect with our creations. Despite the uncertainty of the times, our passion for jewelry and our commitment to quality drove us to work even harder.
"Over the months, creating jewelry evolved from a shared hobby into a family business. Both my husband and I became fully devoted to the craft, constantly seeking new ways to improve our designs and refine our techniques. We drew inspiration from traditional Armenian patterns and symbols, blending them with modern aesthetics to create jewelry that honors our heritage while resonating with contemporary tastes. Each piece we make is a tribute to our culture and a testament to our dedication as a team.
"Our process is truly a labor of love. My background in accounting comes in handy in managing the business aspects, while my husband and I both share roles in the creative process. We meticulously handcraft each item, paying close attention to detail and ensuring that every piece meets our high standards of quality. The experience of working together, nurturing our family business, has been incredibly fulfilling. Jewelry-making has become more than just a profession; it’s a way for us to express our identity and heritage, and a means to share a part of ourselves with others. Today, as we continue to grow our brand, we remain as passionate as ever. We are committed to creating jewelry that not only adorns but also tells a story—of love, dedication, and the timeless beauty of Armenian artistry.""
