THE STORY BEHIND THE PRODUCT

Artisan Organization: Anchal Ahuja
Country: India
My family and I have worked with women's clothing for several decades now. We are located in in Jaipur and specialize in woven and knit garments, bags, home furnishings, and much more.
I've been always fascinated by the beauty, feel and colors of various fabrics, and I always envisioned doing something in the field of textiles. So when I married and joined my husband in the family workshop, my creative instinct came alive. I was so happy to help and do something I had been wanting to do and, in the process learn so much.
"We are constantly experimenting with different kinds of fabric, and each day is a new experience. We source cloth from different parts of the country so we can give variety in our collections. Right now, we are also working with recyclable fabrics. In addition, I'm very fond of experimenting with different kinds of embroidery and colors, and they are very much appreciated by our clientele. I love hearing from my buyers, as this helps us to improve.
"I travel a lot, and the cultural experiences, beauty and architecture of each place give me inspiration. I work in design, whereas my husband takes care of the crafting. The artisan who collaborate with us are wonderful and we also learn a lot from each other. Being able to enjoy what you do in life is great.
"Apart from my work as a designer, my dream for the future is to start an NGO to prevent child molestation.""
