"I am Paula Solano and I was born in Costa Rica. My inclination towards jewelry making has come from an internal calling rather than being influenced by the jewelry craft at an early stage. I believe I have found my calling in jewelry making as it allows me to express myself and help others express their unique personalities. I am a passionate jewelry maker, and the creation of fine jewelry enables me to provide for my children and mother, explore my creative side, and establish connections with other people through art. If any of my products touch a person's soul and they decide to make a purchase, once they hold it in their hands, they will feel the love, passion, and dedication that went into creating it. It is a treasure!

"Growing up I took multiple classes in arts and crafts. Ceramics and jewelry making left a lasting impact on me, and I gradually acquired the tools and equipment needed to practice them at home. Being a self-taught individual, having my own tools provided me with the opportunity to learn and experiment. My passion for design and the world of fashion led me to start designing porcelain and silver accessories. With support and successful sales, I felt motivated and explored various possibilities, eventually developing a more personal style.

"My initial works were in ceramics, combining glazed clay pieces with silver. Later, I designed two-dimensional silver pieces and then progressed to master soldering and three-dimensional work, crafting sculptural pieces in wax and metal. I cherish some of my old artworks, appreciating the progress I have made. From the beginning, passion and love for the craft of jewelry making have always been present.

"My greatest learning experience in jewelry making has been through the traditional atelier model, resembling a master-apprentice relationship. Sharing and practicing with incredible master jewelers, who have more than 40 years of experience and are highly recognized professionals and metal artists, has been a valuable education. I am grateful for the vibrational frequencies that have brought knowledgeable individuals into my life. I can now look at them with pride as I continue to grow more professional.

"The role of an artist in society is of utmost importance, although only a few artists receive social recognition. Engaging in craftsmanship is not an easy endeavor. Historically, artisans have been undervalued in my country and have been relegated to the informal sector of the economy. Initially, I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted to achieve; my drive stemmed from the impulse and passion to create fashion and art. However, over time, I have learned that craftsmanship is a serious activity and a profession. I look up to renowned fashion houses and skilled artisans who achieve remarkable results through their masterful work.

"My jewelry has a universal appeal. I enjoy exploring themes of symbolism, magic, transcendence, and other subjects that are common across cultures. My biodiversity-themed pieces connect people to the culture of my country, which is internationally recognized for its greenery.""
